Board of Directors
The principal goal of the NFSTC Board of Directors is to provide management and policy guidance to the company and to further the goals and business purposes of NFSTC. The Board meets four times during the year, reviews the current and future activities of the organization and makes strategic decisions regarding corporate direction. These meetings may be held at the NFSTC facility in Largo, Florida, or in conjunction with industry events or conferences. Meet the 2010-11 Board of Directors.
Finance-Audit Committee
An important component of the Board of Directors is the Finance-Audit Committee (FAC), which was formed as a direct result of the Sorbanes-Oxley legislation related to corporate board organization and responsibilities. Although not yet legally applicable to non-profit organizations such as the NFSTC, the board felt it prudent to establish the FAC to accomplish a quarterly review of the corporation’s financial documents and to review any appropriate internal matters. In addition, the FAC engages an audit firm to perform the annual formal audit of all NFSTC finances.
NFSTC Staff
NFSTC employs approximately 54 permanent full-time staff members, including management, scientific, instructional design, media development and corporate support professionals. In addition, approximately 180 off-site consultants throughout the United States supplement the workforce.
