Event: Forensic Biological Screening Workshop

Event Description:Registration for this event is closed.

This event is for crime scene investigators in training, or with less than one year experience who are currently employed by a law enforcement agency within the United States of America.  Candidates with more experience may be selected on a case-by-case basis, and as space allows.

A series of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) sponsored workshops will be held at the National Forensic Science Technology Center (NFSTC) in Largo, Florida (Tampa Bay Area):




  • February 1-5, 2010


Biological Screening Workshop attendees will learn:




  • Screening techniques for blood and semen detection
  • Use of alternate light source for locating biological stains
  • Case documentation



Travel arrangements and hotel accomodations are included, and participants will be reimbursed at the standard government per diem for the duration of the workshop.  Registration for this event does not guarantee acceptance into this workshop.  All registrants and nominees will be notified by email of their acceptance into the workshop.
