Using Hyperlinks
Definition: A hyperlink (link) is an element within a document that, when clicked with the mouse, takes the user to a place in a document, on the Internet or on an Intranet.
Depending on how your computer is setup, hyperlinks are used by simply clicking on the link with your mouse or by holding down the Control key while clicking on the hyperlink with the mouse.
The Quality Documents Reference Guide is organized by subject matter. The various documents are selected and opened by clicking on the hyperlinks displayed in blue, underlined text. The selected document then opens in a separate window for review or print. After a document has been opened, the hyperlink display usually changes from blue underlined text to purple underlined text. However, if the document containing the hyperlinks is closed and reopened, the hyperlinked text may again display as blue underlined text throughout the document.
****Note that unless each hyperlinked, opened document is closed, a large number of documents could potentially be open simultaneously. This may slow the processing ability of your computer. It is recommended that you unless you plan to return to a document in the near future, the document should be printed and/ or closed. |
