NFSTC’s Mike O’Berry joins roster of certified evidence photographers
NFSTC is proud to announce that Project Manager Mike O’Berry has completed the intensive 40-hour course of classroom instruction along with a three-part examination to become a certified evidence photographer (CEP) through the Professional Photographic Certification Commission (PPCC). Currently, the PPCC recognizes only 75 photographers in the world with the CEP credential. NFSTC now has two CEPs on staff and others pursuing the credential.

To help crime laboratories develop, enhance and implement their quality systems, NFSTC created a toolkit of generic quality documents to be used by laboratories. The toolkit contains templates, document examples and reference materials such as a Quality Assurance Manual, Operational Policies and a variety of helpful forms.

The Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners (AFTE) will continue accepting applications for the written portion of the certification test through COB Monday, August 13. The exam will be administered during the August 20-31 time period. Apply now by submitting test application(s), fees, and proctor contact information to the AFTE Certification Programs Chairman.
