As a leader in forensic science training and test and evaluation, the National Forensic Science Technology Center is proud to announce two new awarded contracts.
NFSTC will be developing content for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for a controlled substance blended learning training. Our award-winning instructional design team has been tasked with implementing theoretical training materials to support the agency’s internal practical exercises. Utilizing the NFSTC Online Learning System (NOLS), trainees will be tested throughout the course to ensure competency at the completion of the online session and prior to the practical. NFSTC has a rich history of developing and delivering high quality online and instructor-led training programs for law enforcement, laboratories and the military, focusing on forensic science, tactical site exploitation, biology, chemistry and analysis.
In another project, the NFSTC scientific team will be building a spectral library collection of narcotics for Smiths Detection’s FTIR- and Raman-based products. Working in conjunction with Smith’s own scientists, NFSTC will ensure the machines are calibrated to create accurate results. You can read the previous test and evaluations NFSTC has conducted on a few of Smiths Detection technologies here.
