NFSTC mourns the loss of our longtime US Congressman, CW “Bill” Young, who has served Florida’s 13th congressional district since 1971. His accomplishments during his long career are legion and his statesmanship will be greatly missed.

One of Congressman Young’s achievements is the Young-Rainey Star Center, home of NFSTC offices in Largo, FL. He helped bring to fruition the public/private partnerships that resulted in the first successful conversion of a closing U.S. plant to a new, commercial, high technology center by redeveloping and transitioning the aging facilities to commercially viable space. NFSTC and many other businesses have flourished at the Center. It was this kind of thinking that provided opportunities for growth and support that is a hallmark of Young’s legacy in his district.

As an organization that trains law enforcement and members of our military, NFSTC is aware and appreciative of the unwavering support and respect Congressman Young showed to our Armed Forces and those who serve and protect.

We live in a time when constancy, clear thinking and compromise are sorely needed, and CW Bill Young led the way for more than half a century.

Thank you, Congressman Young, for your service and your friendship.
